ROME, N.Y. -- Break out the bell bottoms and turn on your favorite disco tunes. Tthis year's Honor America Days in Rome is all about celebrating the "Me Decade."
The annual two-week long event will kick off on July 27 with the theme of "Salute to the '70s." You can expect to see plenty of tributes to the decade at events like the annual parade on Saturday. That day will also feature a concert by Symphony Syracuse on the lawn at Fort Stanwix, followed by a fireworks show.
Organizers say this year's event is expected to draw as many as 30,000 people during its first weekend.
"It's the time of the year where if you want to come home and really take pride in your community, this is when you do it. It's a real boost, and it's also good for tourism," said Jacqueline Izzo, chairperson of the Honor America Days Committee.
A new logo is also being rolled out this year.
