BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A brand new event will highlight downtown Binghamton's night life. A group of Binghamton restaurant owners have organized the city's first ever Martini Walk.
Mayor Matt Ryan was on hand Wednesday to announce the details for the event, which will take place August 25th. The walk shares a dual goal of promoting night life, activity and entertainment in downtown Binghamton, while at the same time, raising money for the local Discovery Center.
Tickets are $5 with each sample martini costing just $1, with one hundred percent of the ticket price benefitting the Discovery Center.
Organizers encourage attendees to check out all the different spots on the walk and to do so safely.
"At each of the venues, you'll be able to pick up maps to all of the venues. Of course we'll also have the numbers of the local cab companies because we do encourage people if they are not able to get a designated driver to cab it to and from the Martini Walk," said Joshua Luszki, Martini Walk organizer.
Fewer than 100 tickets are left for the Binghamton Martini Walk.
