Locals in healthcare field learn stance of presidential candidates
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Healthcare is one of the most important issues in the 2008 election and nurses, doctors and medical students at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse know the stance of three presidential candidates.
Representatives for McCain, Clinton and Obama told the crowd about their candidates' health care beliefs. Medical students say it's good to know the different opinions the candidates have.
"There's a lot of people who are altruistic in the medical field and they want to help people. We get a lot of that side of the conversation but we don't often get the other side, that health care is a business," said Toby Anderton, a second-year medical student.
