Day seven in Lindsey murder trial

Day seven in Lindsey murder trial
UTICA, N.Y. -- The man accused of killing Utica Police Officer Thomas Lindsey said he didn't pull the trigger. The jury got to see a taped statement Wesley Molina-Cirino made to investigators last June.

In the interview, Cirino said he was at the scene where Officer Lindsey was shot. That contradicts his previous statements to investigators.

In the video Cirino is showing how Officer Lindsey was shot that night but claims he only witnessed it and that his cousin pulled the trigger.

State Police said he changed his statement fairly quickly into the interview.

Assistant District Attorney: "And after about a half hour into the interview did that change?”

Investigator Samuel Serrano: “Yes,”

Assistant District Attorney: “And how did it change?”

Investigator: "Exactly.”

Assistant District Attorney: “What did he do when he changed and admitted that he was there?”

Investigator: '”He cried.'”

During the statement, Cirino repeatedly said he didn't kill Officer Lindsey and asked for a polygraph test but did not receive one.

Closing statements will take place Wednesday morning and verdict could come by the afternoon.
