Bill Leaf Kickball Tournament
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dozens of teams took to the field at Onondaga Lake Park to play in the 3rd Annual Bill Leaf Kickball Tournament. Leaf was a reporter in Syracuse who was killed in January of 2006 when a drunk driver hit him on Interstate 81.
This year's event was also dedicated to Samantha Reynolds. The Liverpool teen was in her family's minivan in South Carolina when she was killed by a driver police say was under the influence. Leaf's sister told News 10 Now that she hopes the tournament makes people realize the impact of driving drunk.
"If everybody takes the time to take care of themselves and realize they shouldn't be getting on the road, we will not have this problem anymore,” said Maria Leaf, Bill's Sister.

Organizers said the event raise more than $10,000 this year. Half of the proceeds will go to the Reynolds family and the other to the Syracuse University alumni club, where Bill Leaf graduated.
The Old Old Wooden Ships won for the third year in a row.
