Former Skaneateles teacher sentenced to six months
ONONDAGA COUNTY -- The Skaneateles teacher accused of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old female student in 2002 was sentenced today in Onondaga County Court.
William Milham, 36, was sentenced to six months in county jail and 10 years probation. He pleaded guilty to criminal sex act as part of a plea deal agreement back in March.
The prosecution had hoped Milham would have received a state prison sentence. Milham's attorney disagrees.

Defense Attorney Emil Rossi said, "There was never an allegation here of use of force. And every indication was he, Mr. Milham, has been completely open to the concept of counseling and a full acceptance of responsibility."
Onondaga County Asst. District Attorney Cindi Newtown said, "Overall we're pleased that the judge didn't give him a lighter sentence, but, again, ultimately we do believe it should have been a state prison sentence."
Milham was a history teacher at Skaneateles High School. He has since resigned from his position.
