President of the New York Power Authority announces resignation
STATEWIDE -- Governor David Paterson announces that the President of the New York Power Authority Roger Kelley, has submitted his resignation.
The governor says under Mr. Kelley's leadership, NYPA has played a critical role in helping to revitalize the state economy, lead several statewide development programs, and helped retain more than 300,000 jobs.
Governor Paterson said in a statement: "Roger Kelley has served the state commendably, leading the Power Authority toward significant accomplishments that will positively impact energy policy into the future."
The Governor noted that Mr. Kelley will be nominated to serve on the board of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. Mr. Kelley's resignation from NYPA will be effective on August 1st.
