Online auction program
ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Onondaga County is hoping a new online auction program will help them turn trash into cash.
The Onondaga County Purchasing Department has partnered with Auctions International to sell county surplus online for the first time ever. Items range from old county vehicles and equipment to personal property materials.
Several local municipalities are also teaming up with the county to put old items online.

"We also are opening it up to towns and villages, kind of a clearinghouse for them. They may not have space as we do or enough stuff to have an auction. So we're really doing more shared services and it's exciting," said Patricia Mosley, Onondaga County Purchasing Director.
The county will also open up its East Malloy Road warehouse for the public to view the items in person.
