Elmira shooting victim identified
ELMIRA, N.Y. -- Elmira police identify Friday night's shooting victim. Maurice Davis, 51, was killed after gunfire broke out in his apartment complex in Elmira.
Police say a group of people approached 352 Hathorn Court just before 3:00 a.m. Friday and that's when gunfire erupted. Davis was sleeping at the time. He was shot in the head.
His wife and children were also in the apartment but were not hurt. Neighbors say they feel for his wife Tanisa Davis, who is now left to raise their kids.
