Child Health Plus expanding
ALBANY, N.Y. -- There is good news for families with young children. An expanded state health insurance program goes into effect Monday.

Under the new Child Health Plus insurance plan, all uninsured children will be eligible for low, or even no-cost health care. Currently, there are more than 400,000 uninsured children living in New York.

Originally, only children whose families made less than $44,000 a year qualified for lower premiums. But now, that ceiling has been raised to $70,000.
