Davis throws hat into Syracuse mayoral ring
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- With Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll finishing out his second term, the seat will open up to newcomers next fall. One man hoping to fill the vacancy is Democrat Alfonso Davis.

Davis held a meet and greet fundraiser Friday night to announce his candidacy. He said he's wanted to run for mayor for several years, but needed to gain some experience before he took on the challenge.

"I think now that I have garnished enough experience, have had enough time in the political process I can make a run, a viable run for the mayor of the City of Syracuse and I think I can do a good job as the new administrator, as well as becoming a true ambassador for the City of Syracuse," said Davis.
