Paterson addresses economic impact on upstate
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Governor Paterson spent the day after his State of the State address further selling his agenda for 2009. So just how will the governor's proposals affect folks living upstate?
During a satellite tour, Paterson said cuts should be made where necessary, but not at the expense of areas that are already suffering.

"What I want people in the Southern Tier and everyone else in the state to recognize is that I am going to distribute the pain fairly and take into account regions that were already struggling for survival before New York went into a recession."
The governor recognized that he needs the Legislature to make things happen. He said he's is looking forward to working with them to get the state's finances whipped back into shape.
