Cab driver dies after being shot
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A man is arrested in connection with shooting a taxi cab driver along Summit Avenue in Syracuse Friday morning.
Denny DeJesus, 20, is charged with first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say three men were in the cab and had planned to leave without paying the fare.

Two of the men did get out, but police say DeJesus stayed in the car and shot Timothy Gordon, 29. According to police, the men had just left a party at a Liverpool residence.
At this time the case is still under investigation, and police are uncertain of the motive.
"We have no indication at all that this innocent cab driver was not shot for any other reason then this person just wanted to shoot him. We have no robbery motive; we have no indication that there was any type of resistance or assault that took place. Just that a man, a cab driver, doing his job was shot for no reason,” said Gary Miguel, Syracuse Police Chief.
Gordon was pronounced dead Saturday at University Hospital.
