Ukrainian community remembers Maria Zobniw
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The 13 people who lost their lives came from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
Maria Zobniw was an important part of the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Johnson City. She spent numerous hours organizing Ukrainian events including the ethnic festival and the annual flag raising ceremony on Ukrainian Day.

Zobniw was a life-long member of the church and she will be missed by everyone in the parish. We spoke with the priest of the church and he describes her as the local face of the Ukrainian community.
Zobniw's funeral service is set to take place at this church on Wednesday morning.
