New York Guard Soldiers Honored
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- New York Army National Guard soldiers were honored Saturday for their service in Afghanistan. Soldiers from the 427th Brigade Support Battalion and their families were recognized during a Freedom Salute Ceremony.
The soldiers were awarded with encased American flags and a certificate of appreciation; family members were also recognized for supporting their loved ones during Operation Enduring Freedom.

"As the Battalion Commander, I have 4 companies that I command. Each of them had their own specific job to do in country, they did it well. I couldn't have asked for a better crew to take over and do this mission," said Lt. Colonel Brian Marshall.
The Freedom Salute Campaign is a nationwide practice that honors Army National Guard soldiers from all over the country.
