Autopsy complete in Ogdensburg death
The autopsy performed on the man found dead in his Ogdensburg home Thursday after a fire there shows he was alive when his house caught fire. But Ogdensburg police stopped short of calling it an arson case.
The autopsy found smoke in the lungs of 43-year-old John Shannon but failed to establish the cause of his death.
Shannon called himself a police drug informant who was trying to get into the inner circle of Ogdensburg drug dealers.
He testified last month in the murder trial against his neighbor, 39-year-old Wayne Oxley Junior. Oxley is accused of beating another neighbor, Beranrd Trickey Jr. to death, possibly over a drug deal.
Police say Shannon reported getting death threats after his testimony.
