Bertrand indicted

The man accused of hitting and killing his girlfriend with his car has been indicted by a grand jury.

Joseph Bertrand is charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated.

It happened last month on Swansea Avenue in Syracuse.

According to deputies, 42-year-old Michele Lozipone got out of the car after arguing with Bertrand.

He then hit her as she was trying to walk home.

Lozipone was pronounced dead at the scene.
