Shipman family speaks out
HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The family of Jeffrey Shipman is speaking out.

Shipman's mother says she did not know that her son was going to take Deonna and leave. She also says she has not heard from Shipman since he and the child were reported missing.

the courts never took away his rights to see his daughter. The mom says Shipman was a great father and would never harm Deonna.

"I don't think he wants to be found of course, because that’s why he's gone. And, of course, I lost a son and granddaughter that I love very much."
