Fans cheer at East Syracuse Memorial Day Parade
EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Village of East Syracuse held its annual Memorial Day Parade. Community members lined Manlius Street to cheer on members of the fire department and the East Syracuse-Minoa Marching Band.
After the parade, a ceremony honored those who have lost their lives while fighting for our country. Those in attendance say honoring our veterans is what the day is all about.

"Well, naturally you think of all the soldiers that defended our country and fought for us and the sacrifices they've made. I hope everyone remembers them today,” said Brad Hilleges, Bridgeport resident.
Veterans from the East Syracuse American Legion conducted the ceremony to honor their fallen comrades.
