Arrest made following shooting, standoff
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting last night on the city's south side. Investigators say James Ellis, 28, was shot in the head on West Matson Avenue. He was taken to University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The search for the shooting suspects led police to a home at 116 West Matson Avenue. They secured the area, evacuating neighbors and then began negotiations with two men and two women who were barricaded inside. After questioning all four people, police arrested Jabre Davis, 21, and charged him with second degree attempted murder.
