School conducts investigation into teacher photos
FULTON, N.Y. -- Earlier this month, Fulton Police arrested art teacher Nathan Wienk and charged him with unlawful surveillance. Police say Wienk tried to take pictures up the skirts of two female co-workers during school meetings. Upon hearing of the arrest, district superintendent Bill Lynch took action.
"I administratively reassigned him so he wasn't working in the school with either students or staff at the present time," said Fulton City School District Superintendent Bill Lynch.
Wienk was placed on administrative leave almost immediately, but not suspended. Still working for the district, Wienk has been reassigned to work on a couple of school projects from home. Wienk has been a teacher in Fulton for almost 10 years and Lynch says he's never had any prior complaints about him.

"Mr. Wienk has had a very strong record as a teacher. He has an exemplary work record teaching students and his performance within the school district. This incident stands alone," said Lynch.
In addition to the police investigation, the school is conducting an internal investigation. Lynch said the investigation will take as long as it needs to and that even though Wienk remains innocent until proven guilty, the school is trying to do what's in the best interest of its students and staff.
"As matters continue to unfold with whatever that might be, we'll respond accordingly with that," said Lynch.
Wienk's attorney declined to comment on the case, telling us he'd have more to say after his client's arraignment, which is scheduled for June 25th.
