MOHAWK VALLEY, N.Y. -- A June warrants sweep put nearly 100 people behind bars in the Mohawk Valley Region.
“Operation Falcon” was run throughout Central New York. In the Utica area, 11 agencies participated in the sweep including the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and Utica Police. On June 11th and the 23rd, a total of 96 people were arrested, wanted on charges ranging from grand larceny to driving while intoxicated.
"The quality of life issues are important. They may not be the worst criminal on the street, but they're doing it over and over and over again. So we might pick them up get the off the street, get them back in the system. For a lot of them get them back into probation or on parole or whatever happens to them it will turn them around," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Jamie Farrington.
