Governor makes economic development announcement at SUNY-IT
UTICA, N.Y. -- Governor Paterson brings major news with him to SUNY-IT as he announces the creation of a high-tech venture on campus. It's called CHIP, or the Computer Hybrid Integration Partnership.
SUNY IT will work together with University of Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering. They will develop a state-of-the-art high-tech business incubator-technology accelerator at SUNY-IT. It will support the attraction and retention of small and medium sized nanotechnology companies in the Utica-Rome area.
The project is expected to create as many as 475 supplier and contractor jobs in the Mohawk Valley.
