SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Volunteers hit the streets of Syracuse Sunday to tell residents about the Say Yes to Education program.

The organization teamed up with members of 40 Below and other community groups to go door to door. Say Yes to Education offers free college tuition program, health and wellness services and after school programs for City School District students.

The point of the canvassing event was to spread the message that services start early and can be utilized by students of all ages.

"There are many students who graduated from city school district last year, who are taking advantage of the free tuition opportunity. But really, the foundations of the success of this initiative need to be at the elementary level and making sure that the kids have all the right opportunities from an early age,” said Andy Breuer, Say Yes Chairperson.
