DEWITT, N.Y. -- A lesson on how teenagers are learning about sex. A sex ed for parents session was held at the Jewish Community Center Tuesday night in DeWitt.

Parents were taught some new things on how teens view sexuality. Organizers say it's important to keep an open dialogue with your child.

"Sex is obviously everywhere on TV, online and it's really important for parents to know and understand how kids are getting their information and how they're interpreting it," said Lori Innella-Venne, Jewish Community Center Director of Teen Services.

The goal of the session was to help parents make sure their kids make healthy decisions.
