BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- The third and final candidate in Broome Community College's lengthy presidential search process met with school officials Thursday.

Dr. Kevin Drumm has been president of Northern Wyoming Community College for the last half decade, but now says he's ready for new geography and a new challenge. Drumm says he supports creating on-campus residences for BCC students.

"I think it adds a whole other layer to an academic community. Residential students persist and create their degrees at a higher rate than, for obvious reasons, students who typically commute," Drumm said.

The college's board expects to meet Friday and Monday before arriving at a final decision.

BCC has been without a president for more than a year.
