DEWITT, N.Y. -- DeWitt Police are busy investigating an armed robbery and an attempted robbery.
Police say three to four men robbed the Wingz Restaurant in Nottingham Plaza around 4:30 Saturday morning. According to investigators, they forced employees into the back of the business at gunpoint and knifepoint, and demanded cash. During the robbery, police say one of the men fired two rounds from a shotgun. They did not hit anyone, but employees were injured when the men hit them with the butt of the gun and their fists. The suspects took off on foot with some cash.
Police have descriptions for two of the men, both black males in their 20s. One is described as 6'2", 170 to 190 pounds. The other is 5'8" to 5'9", 160 to 175 pounds.
Meanwhile, police are also looking for the man who tried to rob a woman at knifepoint on Bradford Road Friday evening. They say the man entered the woman's home through an open garage door, and he took off when she wouldn't give him money. According to investigators, there was then a second attempted robbery with a similar suspect description minutes later nearby in Syracuse.
Police are looking for a white male in his early 20s, 5'9" tall, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a skull-like halloween mask at the time.
