CAMILLUS, N.Y. -- The search continues for a missing Camillus man. Saturday, close to 100 volunteers searched roadways and snow banks for Frank Wlosinski, 74, who is believed to have left his family home last weekend.
The teams met at their command post on West Genesee Street and set out to cover a ten mile span from Memphis to Fairmont.
Wlosinski is a retired firefighter with the Syracuse Fire Department and many of Saturday's volunteers set out to help a missing brother.
“With their help, and the help of the deputy chiefs of the fire department we were able to organize almost 20 different teams to check locations that we needed to get checked. And we were actually able to check from here out to Memphis where he used to live and many places on the west side here where he is known to frequent,” said Sgt. Timothy G. Siddall, State Police.
“It's a tight, tight, tight, brotherhood with the Syracuse Fire Department and it went across the tele-type ten hours ago and 70 guys show up on a day like today,” said Scott McClurg, retired city firefighter.
State police are asking people with barns and garages in the area to check for Wlosinski. He suffers from dementia and was believed to have been wearing an olive green coat and khaki pants when he left his home.
Anyone who may have seen him or have any information on his whereabouts is asked to call State Police at (315) 689-6334.
