SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are investigating a incident Friday night where they say an 11-year old girl was lured into a home and held there.

Police say the child was walking on Butternut Street with a group of seven to ten friends when a man asked for their help moving some items from his porch to the curb.

After finishing that job, the man asked the 11-year old to go into the basement and get a bag of toys.

Police say as she went inside, the suspect, Raoul Baldwin, 29 grabbed the girl by the neck and pulled her into the basement. Her friends eventually entered the house, after she didn't come out and found Baldwin holding the girl.

Police say she did get away, but had scrapes and scratches on her neck.

Baldwin has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment. He's being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
