OLD FORGE, N.Y. - It's an event that's grown leaps and bounds in just its second year, while also creating quite a buzz throughout the Adirondacks.

Hockey players have been skating across Fourth Lake all weekend in Old Forge. Twenty-four teams have faced off at the second annual Adirondack Ice Bowl Pond Hockey Tournament.

Organizers say the event started last year with a few friends just playing hockey out on the lake, and blossomed into a sponsored tournament with four rinks hosting games at the same time.

"There's a lot of other tournaments around the country, the big one in Minnesota, the US Pond Hockey Championships, and guys are saying this is equal to or better as far as conditions of the ice and atmosphere. So we're really happy about that," said tournament director Jim O'Brien.

O'Brien says he hopes the tournament will continue to grow, and become a staple to the region.
