Since the announcement earlier this week by Rep. Eric Massa that he will not seek another term, several names have been circulating as possible replacements.
Among those, Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb.
"People have approached me and asked me to consider it," Kolb said. "All I've said to them right now is I'm working on behalf of the state to close the budget, and I'm not thinking about anything else until that budget's done. That's really all I'm focused on."
"Are you going to think about it after the budget's done," asked YNN Reporter Cristina Domingues.
"Right now, I'm going to focus on the budget. I'm going to borrow the page from everyone at this point because it's so important to focus on the budget; I can't be distracted thinking about anything else until this is done."
Massa cited health issues for his reason not to run, but there is controversy surrounding his announcement.
The House Ethics Panel is looking into a sexual harassment complaint against Massa by a male staff member. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said this week that he was made aware of the allegations by Massa's office last month.
