Students from around across CNY brought their balsa wood bridges to SUNY ESF for load testing today as part of an annual competition. The bridges are placed in a hydraulic testing machine and force is applied until the bridge breaks. In this video we show extended raw footage of the bridge testing in the machine that applies the load to the balsa bridge. Students have been working on building these bridges since the beginning of the semester.
