BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- A drug bust in Binghamton has uncovered a stash of marijuana that police say has a street value of more than $55,000.
Two men are behind bars after 17 pounds of high grade marijuana along with nearly $11,000 in cash were recovered Friday from a house on Floral Avenue in the City of Binghamton. Police say it was the conclusion of a two month investigation.
Roderick Britton, 40, of Johnson City, and Shawn Jordan, 25, of Binghamton, have both been arrested on charges of criminal possession of marijuana. Britton was also charged with second degree criminal impersonation for giving police a false name.
"Based on our investigation and our training experience, we would say that the two people we have under arrest are in the upper echelon in distribution of marijuana," said Sgt. Fred Akshar, Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force.
Both men have prior drug convictions. The men are being held without bail at the Broome County Jail.
