Memorial service held for fallen firefighter Garrett Loomis
Hundreds of people gathered in Sackets Harbor to say good bye to a firefighter killed while on duty last weekend. Garrett Loomis died while fighting a silo fire in the Town of Hounsfield. Our Katie Gibas was at Thursday afternoon's memorial service and joined us with more.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Sackets Harbor community came together to pay tribute to fallen firefighter Garrett Loomis, who died over the weekend while fighting a silo fire in the Town of Hounsfield.
Hundreds attended a memorial service for Loomis at Sackets Harbor School.
Loomis was remembered as kind loving man who was committed to serving his community. He was a graduate of Sackets Harbor School and had recently been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief.
Loomis was also a career firefighter with the Fort Drum Fire Department. He was 26 years old.
