CORTLAND, N.Y. -- An assistant professor at SUNY Cortland faces dozens of charges including rape and sexual abuse involving a teenage girl.

State Police say Daniel DePerno victimized the girl on several occasions beginning when she was 13 years old.

DePerno is now charged with one count of second degree rape, 15 counts of third degree rape, 12 counts of sexual abuse, two counts of criminal sexual act and one count endangering the welfare of a child. He's being held in the Cortland County Jail on $500,000 bail.
