GREAT BRITAIN -- One of the four cancer specialists who examined the man convicted of bombing Pan Am Flight 103 says experts were certain Abdel Bassett al-Megrahi's condition was poor. Oncologist Grahame Howard said in a statement Thursday that the prognosis for al-Megrahi was based on specialist advice.
Al-Megrahi was convicted of the 1988 bombing over Lockerbie that killed 270 people and had been sentenced to life in prison. He was released on August 20 of last year when doctors said he only had three months to live.
