EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Upstate Laboratories conducts environmental testing and sampling across New York and other states.

Tony Scala, a company representative, confirmed the EPA was at the East Syracuse facility. He says federal agents have been there since 8 a.m. Tuesday and they're following procedure and investigating the entire operation. Scala believes an employee who was fired about a month ago called the EPA with complaints. Some of the complaints include fraud on data and illegal waste disposal.

Agents are reviewing all of the records in the building. About 50 people work there.

We called the EPA to get a comment from them about this situation, but have not heard back from anyone at this time
