MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- Not quite a campaign stop, but Congressman Bill Owens was out at a couple college campuses Monday checking out technology of the future.
Owens, who is facing a challenge from Republican Matt Doheny in this year's election, visited Colgate and then SUNY Morrisville, where he toured the algae greenhouse and checked out a methane digester. He says it's green technology like this will be key to creating jobs in the future.
"Folks are developing technologies, they're doing scientific research, they're interacting with their communities and we think that this is one of the baselines if you will or one of the footstools for us being able to create jobs," said Owens.
Jobs are one of the key issues in the 23rd Congressional District, which encompasses parts of 11 counties.
