SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University gathered to celebrate the installation of the sixth dean of Hendricks Chapel. On Monday, Reverend Tiffany Steinwert was appointed as the new dean of the campus chapel.
Steinwert comes to SU with a rich background. She previously served as an Elder in the New England Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, served as pastor at multiple churches and taught at Boston University and Harvard Kennedy School.
Many call Hendricks Chapel the heart and soul of Syracuse University. Steinwert couldn't agree more and hopes to carry on that legacy.
"What I bring to it is a commitment to storytelling, to narrative, to bringing people together in a room and telling their stories across religious theological and ideological divides so that we can find some form of common purpose to work together into the future," Steinwet said.
Hendricks Chapel serves all faiths and has been a part of Syracuse University since 1930.
