SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Several talking points were on the table for Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner Thursday during a stop at the Institute for Retired Professionals.

Miner touted new upcoming initiatives in the city, the impact the economy has on the community and even what the results of Tuesday's election mean for the city. But for members of the IRP, there were two major concerns.

"Well one thing is security, of course. Older people are concerned if they go out places that they won't be in danger in any way and so that is certainly a priority and taxes and all the issues her government deals with," said Virginia Pelsue, President of IRP.

Miner also stressed the importance of keeping pensions alive.
