ONONDAGA COUNTY, NY -- Syracuse Beer Week kicked off this weekend at the fairgrounds with the Uber Beer Festival serving as the kickoff for the event's third year.
Guests at the International Food Pavilion were able to sample beers from around the world. Ales, pilsners and lagers from 12 different breweries were poured by beer-girls in "traditional" Bavarian garb.
The Uber Beer Fest attracted quite a crowd for its first year. Patrons say it's a great addition to Beer Week.
"This is our third year doing the Syracuse Beer Week. We are the second oldest Beer Week in the country. Only second to Philadelphia. Syracuse is a great beer town. We have a great selection of beer all around. And we are just happy to celebrate beer in Syracuse," said Dave Mevoli, GreatBrewers.com.
Beer Week activities will take place all across Onondaga County through the 13th.
