LIBYA -- The Lockerbie bomber is now on life-support and not expected to recover. The Guardian is reporting that Abdel Baset al-Megrahi has slipped into a coma.

Megrahi was convicted in the bombing of Pan-Am Flight 103 in 1988 which killed 270 people among them several Syracuse University students and Upstate New York-natives.

He was controversially released from a Scottish prison in August of 2009 because he has prostate cancer. But a source now tells the Guardian Megrahi has been on life support for several days and is not expected to live.
