WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The relationship between the Watertown area and Fort Drum is now on display for all to see.

Banners are up on light posts throughout downtown and Public Square, highlighting the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum. It's a way to recognize organizations like FDRLO and AUSA, groups that were created to help soldiers and their families and bridge the gap between Fort Drum and the Watertown area.

"With Armed Forces Day coming up and Flag Day in June and then the 4th of July, we'll have the patriotic theme in the downtown. It's just another way to support our Army community," said City of Watertown Planner Mike Lumbis.

Other flags around town support the Greater Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Business Association.
