Broyld Still Expecting SU Scholarship

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse football recruit Ashton Broyld told YNN Sports Wednesday he expects SU to honor its scholarship offer despite his pending legal issues in Rochester.

The Rush-Henrietta quarterback is on the SU campus this week preparing to play in the Upstate/Downstate All-Star Classic Sunday at the Carrier Dome.

Broyld has been charged with public lewdness for allegedly dropping his pants and making obscene gestures to fans after his high school's basketball team was eliminated from the playoffs in March.

The state's player of the year says he's not sure how his legal troubles will pan out but that he's learned something from it and has talked with SU coach Doug Marrone about it.
Broyld says he still intends to suit up for the Orange this fall and his goal is to make the Dean's List.

The high school football all-star game kicks off at 2pm Sunday and will be broadcast live on TWCS.
