ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- As the Oneida County law enforcement community continues to mourn the loss of Deputy Kurt Wyman his wife brings a new baby into the world. Wyman was shot and killed during a standoff at a home in the hamlet of Knoxboro.

Wyman and another deputy were called to a domestic dispute on Knoxboro Road around 8 p.m. Monday.

While the family is dealing with that tragic loss the sheriff's office confirms today that Deputy Wyman's wife Lauren gave birth to a baby girl. We're happy to report that baby Adyson Jynnette Wyman and mom are healthy. The couple also has an 18-month-old son.

The family released a statement, "We would like to express our greatest appreciation to our extended family, friends and the community along with the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, his fellow Marines and all other law enforcement agencies. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care and sensitivity of all the hospital staff who were involved."
