SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It has been talked about for months and now there is finally confirmation that the Syracuse Crunch will be playing a game inside the Carrier Dome next season.
According to Carrier Dome Director Pete Sala and Crunch Jim Sarosy the game will be on March 24, 2012. Sarosy says the Crunch will play either the Binghamton Senators or the Rochester Amerks.
In the process, the Crunch are hoping to break the all-time AHL attendance record for the second time in three years.
Sarosy says there are fewer and fewer hurdles to clear every day.
The Crunch are trying to lineup financial sponsors for the event and hoping to also include a high school all-star game or a local college post-season exhibition.
The AHL schedule comes out next Thursday so we're expecting an official announcement as early as next week.
