UNITED STATES -- A fallen Oneida County Sheriff's deputy has been laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.

Deputy Kurt Wyman, an Iraq veteran, was buried Wednesday morning. The 24-year-old was shot and killed during a standoff in the Hamlet of Knoxboro last June.

Christian Patterson, 40, faces several charges relating to Wyman's death, including aggravated murder.

The Oneida County Sheriff's office held a moment of silence at 10 a.m. Wednesday to honor Deputy Wyman as he was laid to rest.
