NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Public meetings have now been scheduled for parents of students at Gillette Road Middle School.
Parents will learn about architectural concerns related to renovations made to the school six years ago. The exterior wall was apparently improperly installed, leaving the potential for safety glass to become unstable with winds in excess of 75 miles per hour.
The district immediately contacted the State Education Department, and the building has been deemed safe. Steps are being taken to correct the problem and ensure the building's safety.
Informational meetings for parents will be held at the Middle School Auditorium on Friday, September 2nd at 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday, September 6th at 7:00 p.m.
