JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Cape Vincent man accused of murdering one woman and seriously injuring another in May has now been indicted by the Jefferson County grand jury.
Mikel Odle, 20, faces a 17 count indictment from the grand jury, including second degree murder, attempted murder in the first and second degree, assault in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
On May 21st, Odle stabbed Mary Burkman, 51, to death in her home on South Real Street in Cape Vincent. Burkman's daughter, Amber Englebert, 21, ended up with serious stab wounds but survived the attack.
Odle was arrested after a high speed chase with his and Englebert's 11-month-old daughter in the car. He remains at the Jefferson County Jail without bail.
