AURELIUS, N.Y. -- The Cayuga County Health Department says it has conducted five days of testing of well water in the area of last week's major gas spill, and all tests have come back negative for contaminants.

Last week, a farmer working near the intersection of Turnpike Road and Townsend Road in the Town of Aurelius ruptured the gas line, releasing thousands of gallons of gas.

Although no traces of gasoline have been found in the well water, health officials say they will continue to test the water.

If you have any questions, call the Health Department at (315) 253-1405.
